2025 in Review: A Big Year for Scientific Marketers (and for Us)

If you work in science, tech, or healthcare marketing, 2025 probably felt… busy. Budgets under pressure, audiences more niche than ever, and sales teams still asking for “more leads, but better ones.”

Against that backdrop, we’ve focused on what matters most: helping you reach the right specialists, prove impact, and create content that actually resonates.

Think of this less as a formal annual update and more as a 2025 highlight reel, covering new branding, products, and platforms alongside key editorial moments, events, and partnerships.

A New Look for the Same Mission

You may have noticed that AZoNetwork has started to look a little different this year.

That’s not your imagination. Behind the scenes, we’ve been steadily rolling out our refreshed visual branding: new colours, new graphics, and even a refreshed logo appearing across our sites, emails, webinars, and events.

Visually, we’ve leaned into what sits at the heart of our work: connection.

Our mission remains the same:

Sharing science stories with the people who make a difference.

The new visual direction focuses on the connections inside that mission:
connecting audiences to the people who are pushing science forward.

That shows up in:

  • A more modern colour palette
  • Updated graphics and illustration styles
  • A refreshed logo

Nothing fundamental has changed about what we do. The aim is simply that wherever you meet us, on a webinar, at a conference, or in your inbox, it all feels like one joined-up AZoNetwork experience.

New Specialist Newsletters for Precision Targeting

In 2025 we launched six new newsletters in direct response to the innovations and challenges driving change across precision engineering, diagnostics, and advanced manufacturing. If your products live in those edge cases where the audience is niche but high value, these were built with you in mind.

Each newsletter is:

  • Curated around real-world challenges and applications
  • Delivered to engaged, opt-in technical professionals
  • Available to sponsor so you can put your brand in front of exactly the specialists you care about

Whether you’re looking to stay visible to industry decision-makers or plug into a very specific buyer segment, the idea is simple: smarter content for scientific audiences, not just bigger lists.

A Refreshed eBook Offering: Same AZoContent, More Strategic Options

It’s not just new newsletters. In 2025, we also gave our eBook offering a refresh.

We know content marketing isn’t just about getting your message out; it’s about reaching the right audience, at the right time, with the right message. To make that easier, we now offer three distinct eBook formats, each designed to support a different marketing objective, from building awareness to generating qualified leads.

All three share the same foundations:

  • High-quality AZoContent
  • Targeted distribution
  • Professional design
  • Gated lead capture

The difference lies in how the message is framed and who it reaches, so you can pick the format that best fits your goal rather than forcing one asset to do everything.

Our new Editorial Focus eBooks are designed for a more specific readership, allowing you to target your message directly to the people who matter most. Sent to a defined subscriber base of up to 10,000, they feature your content alongside six AZoEditorial pieces, creating a highly relevant, authoritative resource.

AZoIntel Got an Upgrade

Our commitment to continual innovation and providing new value to our customers drove two major AZoIntel upgrades in 2025. Both are about clearer communication and giving you more useful campaign insight.

eBook Reporting

Sponsored eBook campaigns now come with real-time reporting inside AZoIntel, so you can easily see pageviews, downloads, and leads, plus who is engaging and where they’re coming from. That means more transparent conversations about performance and ROI, backed by live data.

SEO Content Planner

The SEO Content Planner brings blog ideas, keyword intent, drafts, approvals, and performance tracking into one place. It makes it much easier for you and your account manager to stay aligned, give feedback, and see how each piece of content is performing.

Both features reflect the same goal: to keep improving AZoIntel so you have more insight, more transparency, and more value from every campaign.

CPD Accreditation for Webinars

In 2025, we became a member of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Certification Service, meaning eligible webinars hosted across our digital scientific event platforms can now be offered as CPD-accredited learning. It’s a natural extension of our focus on education and supporting the people who make a difference in science, engineering, and healthcare.

At AZoNetwork, our mission has always been to connect science, engineering, and healthcare professionals with the knowledge they need to advance innovation. By joining the CPD Certification Service, we’re able to transform webinars from marketing touchpoints into internationally recognized learning experiences. This not only supports our clients in sharing their expertise but also helps attendees strengthen their professional development and career progression.

Dr. Ian Birkby, CEO, AZoNetwork

For attendees, CPD accreditation turns webinars into verifiable learning they can log towards professional requirements. For marketers, it adds a tangible benefit that boosts registrations, attracts more committed delegates, and positions your brand as an educator and trusted partner. All of this within the same fully managed webinar workflow and AZoIntel reporting you’re used to.

Interview Highlights

It hasn’t just been a busy year for product launches and new features at AZoNetwork, our AZoEditorial teams across the AZoSites have been busy too.

As always, we’ve interviewed some amazing thought leaders this year. Here are a few of our editors’ standout moments, and why they mattered.

Real patient stories and the pressure on clinicians

In our interview with Dr. Goyal, he shared personal experiences and patient stories that added real depth to the discussion around how AI improves patient outcomes. The conversation highlighted the everyday challenges patients face and how, all too often, it feels like clinicians simply don’t have enough time. That honest, human angle is exactly why this one stood out for our editor.

Raising awareness of a global challenge

Another highlight focused on an area that’s becoming increasingly important not just for our audience, but globally. It was a great opportunity to speak with someone directly dealing with the challenges in sustainability and reducing electronic waste and to share those experiences more, helping to raise awareness of an issue that affects communities, industries, and policymakers worldwide.

Meeting major players onsite

We had the chance to sit down with a true thought leader in their field at the UK Space Conference in our home base of Manchester. It was a great opportunity to tap into that level of expertise in Space Safety and early detection of Solar Events. It also reflects our commitment to interviewing people at the forefront of their disciplines, getting out to events, meeting people where they are, and bringing those insights back to our audience.

Pittcon 2025: A Standout Stop on Our Calendar

Pittcon was once again a standout moment in our year, and we’re proud to continue our strong relationship with the team behind it.

From the Pittcon pups to the Pittcon party at the Boston Museum of Science, it was a great reminder that serious science and genuine community can absolutely coexist.

For the Pittcon Podcast this year, we had the privilege of speaking with Sir Professor Cato T. Laurencin, a pioneer in regenerative engineering and the 2025 Coulter Lecturer. We explored his incredible career, the development of the Laurencin–Cooper ligament, and his ambitious HEAL Project, which aims to regenerate a human limb by 2030.

Beyond the science, this conversation captured exactly what we’re striving for with the podcast in this new season: meaningful, human-centred storytelling that brings complex topics to life and connects with both our audience and Pittcon’s global community.
